Lee Seung Gi Joins Cha Seung Won On Hong Sisters Drama “Hwayugi”

FRESH FROM HIS MILITARY SERVICE STINT, ACTOR LEE SEUNG GI REUNITES WITH FAMILIAR FACES FOR HIS POST ARMY PROJECT HWAYUGI.

Penned by famous duo-writer Hong Sisters, Hwayugi is reportedly an adventure drama based on 16th century Chinese novel “Journey to the West”.

The upcoming TVN drama will feature Lee Seung Gi and Cha Seung Won, who last worked together in detective-comedy drama You’re All Surrounded.  The former will also reunite with Hong sisters, who conceived the adorable fantasy-rom-com My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox.

Helming the drama is PD Park Hong Kyun of The Greatest Love and Queen Seon Deok – so we have a polished and reliable cast and production team to look forward to.

I hope Hong sisters would tweak this fantasy project to make up for the sorry-ful miss that they had in their last offering. *coughjejuislandgatsby

Oh Yeon Seo (My Sassy Girl), FTISLAND Lee Hong Ki, Lee Se Young (The Best Hit), Kim Ji Soo (Hwarang), Lee El (Black), former SISTAR member Yoon Bo Ra, Kim Sung Oh (Fight For My Way), Song Jong Ho (Unni is Alive), and rapper One round up the star-studded line up of this fantasy-adventure drama.

Hwayugi is set to premiere on TVN this December.
